Each year Coastal Patrol members donate thousands of man hours to public education which is provided as a low cost community service in the interests of safe boating. Any profit from these courses is used to extend the Patrol's vital rescue and education work. The instructors and assessors are well qualified.

  • The courses are open to everyone and no special education background is required.

  • There are no entrance exams.

  • Concession fees are available to Coastal Patrol members and MRSS members.

  • All courses are conducted at our Point Clare Base.

Class sizes are limited to the following:

  • Marine Radio Operator    15

  • Seamanship               15

  • Navigation               10

  • Meteorology              12

Bookings for places are not confirmed until the appropriate fee is received at the Point Clare Base.

Applications close 10 days before the course commences.

Further information is available by phoning Coastal Patrol BaseTelephone at Point Clare between the hours of 6am and 6pm seven days per week or by submitting the Online Course Application Form. If you wish, you may call in to the Base and talk to our duty personnel.
