On the 15th  March Seatamer Marine delivered (by sea from Lake Macquarie) the Division's new Category 2 Lifeboat, to be known as 'Central Coast Lifeboat'.

Since that weekend the Division has been working 'flat out' to complete the installation of marine radio and other specialised rescue equipment, as well as familiarise crews with the new vessel.

Central Coast Lifeboat replaces Gosford Lifeboat and is of similar size and configuration. Gosford Lifeboat was scrapped for safety reasons when parts of the the hull and frames was found to have significant electrolysis. The Yanmar diesel engine, Hamilton Jet and much safety equipment was transferred to the new vessel.

Central Coast Lifeboat is due for final survey inspection by NSW Maritime on May 2 and if successful will enter service immediately.
